April Luncheon

April 10, 2025, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Oklahoma City Community Foundation (1000 N. Broadway Ave., Oklahoma City)

Members - $20

Non members - $30

In the nonprofit sector, passion and purpose drive our work, but the emotional toll of constant giving can be overwhelming. This session explores the realities of burnout and secondhand trauma—how they manifest, why they’re so prevalent in mission-driven spaces, and what we can do to protect our well-being. Attendees will learn the stress cycle and self-compassion to help combat burnout.  By addressing these challenges head-on, we can sustain our energy and continue making a meaningful impact without sacrificing our own mental and emotional health.

Carrie Neff, LPC-S, IMH-E, is an experienced therapist with over 10 years of work supporting children and families. She has worked in various settings, including domestic violence shelters and mental health centers, where she’s built strong, trusting relationships with clients. Specializing in trauma-focused and infant mental health treatment, Carrie is certified in several evidence-based modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is also an endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Supervisor.

Carrie is dedicated to helping children and families navigate challenges and grow through early intervention. Her approach combines empathy with practical, evidence-based strategies to create positive, lasting change. Driven by a deep commitment to the well-being of children, Carrie strives to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.
