AFP Oklahoma

August Luncheon

August 13, 2026, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits (701 N. Lindsay Ave. Oklahoma City, OK 73104)

An estimated $163 billion is expected to transfer between generations in Oklahoma during the next decade. What does that mean for fundraisers? More than a discussion of estate planning, this session explores how CFO's recent Transfer of Wealth Study can help nonprofits think differently about donor relationships, planned giving and long-term charitable capital. Jana Moring will examine how donor intent, community needs and charitable infrastructure intersect, offering practical ideas for fundraisers while challenging attendees to consider a larger question: What will stay when wealth changes hands?

Jana Moring is executive director of the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, where she works with donors, nonprofits and communities across the state to strengthen charitable giving, build permanent endowments and expand philanthropic opportunity. She leads statewide initiatives focused on community philanthropy, transfer of wealth, impact investing and charitable infrastructure, helping communities of every size develop the resources needed to invest in their own futures.

Before joining Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, Jana served in senior advancement leadership at the University of Oklahoma Foundation, where she worked in strategic communications, donor relations, compliance and fundraising. Throughout her career, she has focused on the intersection of philanthropy, public policy and community development, believing that charitable giving is most powerful when it strengthens both people and place.
